An organic co-creation project

Une Proposition nommée Désir (A Proposal named Desire) is an organic co-creation project initiated by Fatoumata Sissi Ngom, Policy Analyst, computer science and financial mathematics engineer, and writer. She holds both Senegalese and French citizenships.

Fatoumata was born in Dakar in 1986, and grew up in Mboro, a coastal city and a mining hub, while being a agriculture granary.

Une Proposition nommée Désir connects population's well-being and the state of the environment with public perception, public policy, data, gender dynamics, spirituality, art and cultural heritage. Everything is connected.

The project was first launched in Mboro and the surrounding areas, after the launch of a public perception tool on subjects related to environmental degradation due to extractive industries, urbanism, access to basic infrastructure, local economy, and mental health.

Through this platform, we aim to make Mboro and other cities from the Global South a model of creativity and sustainable development. Senegal and the world could draw inspiration from it

La Proposition nommée Désir is also a spiritual programme - through sharing of spiritual knowledge, which goes beyond Mboro and speaks to every human soul: welcome to the Universal.

An Observatory and a platform for inclusive and conscious co-creation

The Observatory of Une Proposition nommée Désir is a space for observations, analyses and proposals written by experts for decision-makers and the general public. The results of the public perception tool in Mboro and related data are available in the Observatory. The format is not grey. Here, texts, data, reports, sounds and vivid images will alternate to give the Observatory a multifaceted and accessible dimension. This is our Signature.

In the Organic Co-creation Capsule of the Une Proposition nommée Désir, we provide a platform for everyone to engage in co-creation. The Capsule is a space for contact, sharing ideas and finding new ways of working together. Everyone has something valuable to contribute, and we welcome diverse perspectives and opinions.

Whispering to ears

We also whisper in the ears of those who want to support local development and sustainable, equitable growth in Mboro, Africa and the Global South. Our approach is first grounded in our superpower: empathy, and second in a deep understanding of the social, cultural and economic context of the region.

Redefining standards and seeing life in a new light

Seeing life from a different angle entails reactivating one's personal memories of power.

Une Proposition nommée Désir calls on our common humanity. It is deeply universal. Regardless of our continent or identity, we all want to live in abundance and good health. We all want a functional and comfortable home. We all want to breathe clean air. We aspire to co-create communities where each individual is truly free. We all long for happiness and love. We aim to, put simply, become who we really are

This platform is dedicated to cross-fertilization of ideas and knowledge, collaboration, and implementation of impactful projects. The mission is as follows:

  • Innovate by bringing several kinds of energy to the table. This includes ideas, policy recommendations, networking, the energy of money and financial resources for sustainable development.

  • Unleash the creative power within us all, by reconnecting with our true essence

Let’s connect.

Both blessed and cursed by the sea, Mboro and its coastal neighbours are, sadly, a departure point for illegal migrants wanting to reach Europe by pirogue.

The survey found that only just over half the population, 56%, want to stay in Mboro.

This finding was widely discussed with the population and the mayor at the Mboro High School event. How can policies be put in place so that the population and young people have Reasons to Stay? We'll be discussing this in the co-creation capsule.
